Commander R. A. Helbig, USN
Commander R. A. Helbig has traveled greatly during his Naval career, serving as Communications Officer aboard the USS JOHN D. CRAIG (DD 885) and Weapons Officer of the USS AGERHOLM (DD 826). He received his Masters Degree in Engineering Acoustics in 1970; was Assistant Senior Advisor River Patrol Command in Vietnam, and served as Executive Officer and Commanding Officer of the USS NOA (DD 841).
Before coming to the BIDDLE, Commander Helbig spent three years teaching physics at the Naval Academy.
