Made the 1985-86 Med/IO cruise, and sat most of the time of Libya with a few good port visits (Benadorm, Spain). Like to make contact with SMCS Morton, SM1 Crockett, SM1 Sliker, and SM2 Stiles. Comments: Well here we are over 20 years later! I hope all the old gang is doing well. Can't believe I have not been in front of the old Man getting fined for over 25 years (I still love you Al Henry!). Al was the greatest Captain I ever went to mast with! Well to all the officers and chiefs that said I would not ever amount to anything, Whoops wrong answer!! I am doing great pullin in $80,000 plus a year and working in the medical business. See all those trips to Doc Beavers paid off! Got a wonderful wife and a great son who is a clone of me, so hide your daughters! I sorta wish we could all get the Biddle out for a run against bin-laden. I wonder what message Kraze would flash him? Or we could lock him in a room with Frank Buscemi! Or lock him in another room with Bob Miller and Danny Ross. Would'nt it be nice to ram a terrier missle up his ass!!!!! Well God bless America and God bless you all. It was an honor and a blast to serve with all of you and I hope Lt. Titi survived his military career.! Peace 1977-1981

Comments: I was station on board the Biddle in 92-93. Where we spent many days at Sea.
I was in R-Div with DCC Gower, DC2 Conell, DC2 Stollins, HT3 McCabe, DC3 Stoddert? HT3 Coates. Just a few of the names I could remember.
One thing I will never forget was when I first arrived to the Biddle was by helecoptor. I was flown out of Sig. On an E-2 and caught the wire on the Roosevelt I think, that was pretty cool.
But the next day we were going to meet up with the Biddle so they could transport me by Helo. Well the next day came and we got on a Helocoptor and started our way to the Biddle. But one of the Helocoptors Motor's caught on fire so we had to go back to the carrier.
Then we loaded up on a bigger helocopter, and then went to the Biddle. This helocoptor was too big to land, so I had to be lowered down by the cable. It was all to sureal.
That was prett cool for a kid that was just 19.

Comments: Hey guys. For anyone here that knows me, you also knew Joe Ervin (OS2 - OS1) while onboard Biddle.
I bring some very sad news to you today.
I will paste the article from the Hampton Roads Daily Press below.
PASTE:
Roosevelt sailor's body is found
By Keith Rushing
Daily Press
Published March 14, 2002
NORFOLK -- The body of a Norfolk-based naval officer, assigned to the USS Theodore Roosevelt, has apparently been found in the Mediterranean Sea.
The Associated Press reported that a body which washed up near a lighthouse in Port Sayeed, Egypt, Wednesday. had identification matching a naval officer who went missing from the Roosevelt last week.
The Navy was dispatching an officer to Port Sayeed Wednesday night, said officials with the U.S. Sixth Fleet based in Gaeta, Italy.
The Navy did not say whether it believed the man fell overboard.
While naval officials wouldn't officially confirm the man's identity, the parent's of Lt. Joseph Ervin, who live in Norfolk, said they received the news of his death Wednesday when a body with his identification tags was found in the Mediterranean.
Ervin who was in the Navy for 18 years was last seen Friday, Ervin's parents said.
Family members said Ervin was looking forward to coming home to his two sons, ages 2 and 4, after a long deployment.
WAVY-TV 10 contributed to this report.
Keith Rushing can be reached at 247-7870 or by e-mail at krushing@dailypress.co
END OF PASTE
Everyone that knew him and his wife Philipa please keep His family in our prayers.
He will be missed.

I emailed the news station and asked for conformation but, I think it got lost with the events that were to follow the next day. Does anyone know if she was here in Philly? God Bless America, Tea
